Module 1 Writing Activity
Observe a scene, preferably in a crowded, busy, or public place. List the activities that you see occurring and the actors (those doing the activity). Write 5-6 sentences that use your observation list and underline the subjects of your sentences. Write a few sentences experimenting with using different types of pronouns from the tables in Unit 3.  You will want to keep all of these sentences at hand as you do the writing activities for this unit.

Observation:
Young girl talking to older ladies
Young man playing a game on his phones with hands tattoos
Woman with the blue shirt I saw in the morning
Young Woman on the phone sitting next to me

It had become increasingly hot as I dodged traffic to get to the bus stop after work. I wore a striped burgundy oxford shirt and I was beginning to sweat. After rolling up sleeves and unbuttoning the top two buttons I began to breathe through my nose to try and beat the head. Cars and Trucks sped pass and behind them was the hot wind of the 90 degree humidity. Who would travel 31 plus miles for employment? This was the only place that I could find a job that was paying substantially more than I was receiving elsewhere. This heat is unbearable. Their are more Delaware state employees walking to the bus stop. It is a relief to know that I am not the only one suffering in this weather.

The bus arrives on time and I am eager to jump in to the coolness of the air conditioning. It smells on this bus. Their is someone who was working hard. I feel sick as I pass someone who either works in construction or is homeless. Neither would surprise me, this part of the county seems desolate and poverty stricken. The back of the bus provides some solitude from the stench of the front. I'm relieved to sit and cool down as the bus drives to the train station, my travels seem to drag on.

In the back, a man talks loudly on the phone as if he is intimidating someone. Two white woman talk amongst themselves quietly to the right side of my seat. The left is a young man with hand tattoos. What possessed him to get those conspicuous tattoos? I have tattoos and a fan of the art, but hand and face tattoos take away the mystic and rebeliousness of getting a tattoo. Rebelious? Maybe thats why he got them.

There are also two black young women who are wearing McDonalds uniforms are talking across the isle. I can't make out what was said, but Helen from Grants begins to laugh and looks across one to her colleague. The young women find it amusing and laugh as well, conversations develop.

Module 2 Writing Activity
In your journal, continue your list of nouns and adjectives by adding in five to ten verbs and adverbs. Then, write a couple of sentences using your list of nouns, adjective, verbs, and adverbs.

This weekend will undoubtedly be the most craziest, funnest time of the year or the most regrettful, abashed experience that will leave me walking with my head down. That's right! It's that time of year! Jahri Evan Foundation Football Weekend, at least that is what promote to others.

For the last two years, I have been the sole photography for Jahri Evans Foundation. The weekend starts with the annual scholarship bowling party at Dave and Busters, which is always flooded with school age children running around playing games, and bowling. The next day is always filled with unrelenting heat and fatigue at the football camp. Student from elementary to high school participate in drills that are coached by NFL players. Then finally, that night, there is a celebratory party in Atlantic City. This can be summed up to rejoicing in the all of the hard work that went into planning and running the activities for the two days prior.

I always, with out fail, crash and burn at the party on Saturday. I have likened the last two years to The Hangover movies. Not as crazy, but definitely in range. I just let loose. I forget all of my troubles and have fun, too much fun. The first year I woke up at the fountain outside of the club where we were partying the night before, but miraculously I was able to find the car. And the second night I . . . can't remember.

This time I will have fun, moderate fun. I will not push it to the max.
Module 1 Writing Activity
In your journal, write down a list of at least five to ten nouns and five to ten adjectives as you observe a scene at home, work, or in your community.

I'm writing the first entry for a Coursera.org course that I am extermely late for, but I say "Better late than never!" I'm currently at work, everyone else is out of the office no doubt having a great time at the employee appreciation party. Unfortunately, I had the pleasure of driving annoying speed limit of 65 in a De State owned vehicle for Accounts Payable Approval training. Can you feel my saracasm? Then you understand how elated I was to not gain any practical experience while listening to a monotone, drawn out, Ben Stein type voice for four hours. In the end, the day is not half bad. Upon arriving back to my cubicle and checking with my Executive Director, I was told I can relax because everyone was out. Awesome. Now, you have had the pleasure of reading about the first half of my day. Oh wait, it's going to be 88 degrees outside . . . until next time.
